We seek to hire a highly skilled Commercial Lawyer to join our in-house legal team. It may become a partially remote role, but the starting period will require at least 3 days in Hengelo at the production facility. The successful candidate will provide legal guidance and support to the Dutch subsidiaries active in energy/manufacturing sector, including sales, marketing, and product development and internal compliance function.
Tasks
- Provide accurate, timely, clear, and well-reasoned legal advice and support primarily to Destinus Dutch business
- Anticipate and identify legal issues of concern and proactively develop effective legal solutions
- Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of legal documents including supply, service, licensing, framework agreements
- Provide legal support to the sales and marketing teams in relation to contract negotiations, RFXs, and proposals
- Work closely with the product development team to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards
- Provide advice on compliance, incl. data protection and privacy regulations
- Provide advice and support to the business to ensure compliance with Destinus policies
- Ensure Destinus complies with national and international laws as well as local statutes and regulations
- Proactively manage claims and disputes arising in relation to Destinus Dutch business ensuring swift resolution of potential claims to mitigate costs and work with external counsel when necessary
- Manage corporate governance and secretarial responsibilities, including but not limited to filing for and maintaining business and company registrations in Netherlands, and managing legal documents and corporate records
- Be aware of export control regulations (EU and national level) and be prepared to further educate and implement in practice
Requirements
- A law degree from a reputable Dutch university
- At least 5 years of experience working as a lawyer and compliance specialist, preferably in industry sector or a law firm with a focus on commercial laws
- Strong drafting, negotiating, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Dutch and EU data protection and privacy laws and export control regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English
