Netflix is seeking a driven Public Policy coordinator to support its policy team for the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg). This is a full-time position located in Amsterdam, at our EMEA HQ, and will report directly to the Director of Public Policy, Benelux & Nordics. This position will work to ensure that the policy and regulatory environment remains conducive to the growth of our business. Given that Netflix has its EMEA HQ in Amsterdam and is regulated under Dutch law for the provision of its service across the EU, our policy work in the Netherlands is of particular relevance. 

You will be part of educating and raising the awareness of stakeholders, providing thought information on policy issues of concern to us, advocating for our position with policy and industry stakeholders and collaborating with other local partners. In this role you will:

• Identify, monitor and analyze relevant policy trends, legislative proposals, relevant news, and policy developments which may have an impact on Netflix. Gather and analyze intelligence on policy and regulatory developments in the The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

• Help colleagues across Netflix understand the impact that potential changes to policies and regulations in the Benelux may have on our business and their respective functions, and work cross-functionally with key relevant stakeholders; including Content, Legal, Product and Communications, to strategically align on various policy objectives 

• Help develop and execute initiatives to support the development of the local creative community, in partnership with other teams of Netflix. 

• Prepare and communicate Netflix’s positions on key policy issues by preparing briefings, status reports, speech preparation, positioning documents and organizing events. 

• Support in the development, maintenance, and deepening of relationships with public policy and industry representatives, build creative alliances and serve as a representative of Netflix in relevant industry meetings and associations. 

To be considered for this role you must have:

• Minimum 4 years experience in a policy-related role in either a government organization, legislative body, policy consulting firm, policy research institute or in-house government relations department.

• Demonstrated good judgment, strong research and analytical skills. 

• High level of organization, attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure, manage time and (re)prioritize tasks, keep multiple obligations and deadlines on-track in a very fast-paced environment.

• Strong industry knowledge - an in-depth understanding and keen curiosity of the entertainment and media industries and internet based business models.

• An ability to cover a broad range of issues and work with a network of internal and external stakeholders.

• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal interpersonal communication skills in Dutch and English. French language will be an advantage.
