Data Engineer

An experienced Data Engineer will join Samsung Electronics Benelux as a temporary replacement, helping to develop and optimize data solutions across the organization. The position focuses on building scalable data scripts, automating repetitive processes, improving workflows and integrating SAP systems.

This is a six-month assignment based at Samsung’s Schiphol location for 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

Python programming

Develop and maintain Python scripts for data manipulation, automation and problem-solving, ensuring efficient and scalable solutions.

SQL expertise

Write and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and analysis, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Scripting and Excel automation

Use scripting languages such as VBScript and Visual Basic for Applications to automate repetitive tasks and increase productivity. Apply advanced Excel and VBA skills to data processing, automation and reporting.

SAP integration

Apply knowledge of SAP VBScript to integrate and automate processes within SAP environments, improving operational efficiency.

Process optimization

Map processes, identify inefficiencies and develop solution-oriented strategies to streamline workflows and increase productivity.

Documentation

Maintain comprehensive documentation of solutions, project activities and processes to ensure clarity, traceability and effective knowledge sharing.

Project coordination

Manage project-related activities and coordinate effectively across onsite and offshore teams.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer or Business Intelligence Engineer.
  


• Proficiency in Python, with experience in data manipulation, automation and problem-solving.
  


• Strong knowledge of SQL and the ability to write and optimize queries for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  


• Experience with VBScript and Visual Basic for Applications.
  


• Advanced Excel and VBA skills for automation, data processing and reporting.
  


• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  


• The ability to map processes, identify inefficiencies and develop effective workflow improvements.
  


• Strong project management skills.
  


• The ability to coordinate across onsite and offshore teams.
  


• A meticulous approach to documentation and knowledge sharing.
  

Preferred skills

• Experience integrating Python, SQL and VBA scripts into end-to-end automation solutions.
  


• Familiarity with SAP environments and SAP VBScript for integration and automation.
