Design Engineer

Own the design of experimental chips for R&D and product development, contributing to the design and optimisation of new quantum processors.

Support Foundry customers in designing chips that conform to QuantWare's Process Design Kit (PDK), providing guidance throughout the design process to meet technical and operational standards.

Manage the full development loop for the chips you design, coordinating with fabrication and measurement teams to ensure successful transfer and execution.

Drive process improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks and recommending enhancements to tools, workflows, and design-to-tapeout processes for improved efficiency.

M.Sc.-level understanding of circuit design and microwave engineering. Experience with superconducting and quantum circuits is a strong plus. 

Proficiency in radio-frequency (RF) simulation tools, such as ANSYS HFSS, Sonnet, or equivalent, with a demonstrated ability to model and optimise microwave structures.

Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in Qiskit Metal, KLayout, GDSFactory, or similar tools considered a plus.

Familiarity with nanofabrication processes and cryogenic measurement techniques is a plus.

Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects, showing initiative, autonomy, and an eye for practical impact.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.
