THE POSITION

We are looking for an experienced Director of Groups & Events to lead our Groups & Events Sales Team across multiple brands and locations. Your office will be based in Utrecht (NL) or Frankfurt (DE). The Director will be reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing and will be responsible for overseeing B2B bookings for Groups & Events. Ensuring seamless operations, maximizing revenue and strong team performance. In this job you will work closely with all disciplines in the commercial team.



YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a team of Groups & Events Sales Specialists converting group and event opportunities.

  • Train, mentor, and inspire your team to achieve operational excellence and revenue growth.

  • Maintain a helicopter view to ensure smooth coordination between departments and oversee the entire Group & Events booking process.

  • Work closely with hotel event organizers, proactive sales teams, revenue management and central reservations to drive results.

  • Optimize workflows and ensure strong communication between stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement winning B2B and leisure sales strategies and procedures with a strong focus on qualification and conversion.

  • Determining and monitoring budgets and KPI’s and aligning them with Odyssey Hotel Group’s vision and mission.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

  • Level C1 in English (German and/or Dutch is a strong preference).

  • At least 4 years of experience in hotel sales, reservations, and/or MICE within hospitality.

  • Proven leadership experience within hospitality, with a strong ability to develop teams.

  • A helicopter view, with the ability to oversee multiple operations simultaneously.

  • Experience in a multi-brand hotel group is a strong advantage.

  • Solid background in B2B sales and revenue optimization.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with hospitality systems e.g. Salesforce and Opera.
