Director of Technology Insurance & Investments

Job Summary

The Director of Technology provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization's technology environment, ensuring that technology architecture, applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and digital capabilities support business objectives.

Within Insurance & Investments, the role may oversee technology supporting insurance platforms, investment and asset-management systems, finance, risk, compliance, customer platforms, and enterprise operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the technology strategy and roadmap.

Lead technology modernization, digital transformation, automation, and innovation.

Oversee enterprise architecture, applications, infrastructure, cloud, networks, and technology operations.

Manage technology platforms supporting insurance, investments, finance, risk, and corporate functions.

Lead cybersecurity, information security, technology risk, and IT controls.

Establish technology governance, standards, policies, architecture principles, and operating models.

Oversee ERP, CRM, core insurance, investment-management, financial, and enterprise applications.

Lead systems integration, APIs, databases, cloud migration, and application modernization.

Ensure technology resilience, availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Manage major technology programs, implementations, migrations, upgrades, and integrations.

Manage technology budgets, vendors, outsourcing partners, contracts, and procurement.

Drive data, analytics, AI, automation, and business-intelligence initiatives.

Monitor technology KPIs, SLAs, service quality, project delivery, and operational performance.

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, cybersecurity, privacy, and financial-services requirements.

Partner with executive and business leaders to translate business needs into technology solutions.

Build and lead high-performing technology teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

10–15+ years of progressive technology/IT experience.

5+ years in Director of Technology, Technology Director, IT Director, Head of Technology, CTO, CIO, or equivalent leadership roles.

Experience in insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, wealth management, or financial services.
