Your Role in the Mission:

The Electric Powertrain Department is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the development, integration and testing of the advanced electric power distribution system for Elysian Aircraft's next-generation electric aircraft. This position requires technical expertise, innovative thinking, and the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to push the boundaries of powertrain technology in sustainable aviation.

Your Day-to-Day:

Support the Electric Powertrain System design:

• The Electric Powertrain system is composed by the distribution systems (busbars, sensing, monitoring, layout and wiring) protection systems (circuit breaker, SSPC), inverter and motors.


• Activities includes specification, calculation, simulation, failure analysis of the component that will be outsourced or co-designed with suppliers.
  
  

Prototyping:

• Support equipment definition, selection and procurement.


• Assembly of demonstrators (Test Benches & subsystems).
  
  
  
  
  

Perform Testing and Validation:

• Support the demonstrator test definition and planning


• Perform testing and validation
  
  

Cross-team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the energy storage, structural, and propulsion integration team to ensure seamless integration of powertrain components.


• Support project steering committees.

1. Required:
   
   
   
   
   • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
   
   
   • 3+ years of practical experience in the field of Electric power Distribution and Conversion.
   
   
   • Hands-on experience with static and dynamic electrotechnics/mechatronics systems : Equipment set-up and commissioning, test plan definition and execution.
   
   
   • Knowledge of PMSM machine, power electronics (SSPC, Inverter), cabling and busbar design and sizing.
   
   
   • Knowledge with design, modelling and simulation (Electrical, Systems, Thermal).
     
     
   
   
   
   


2. Preferred:
   
   
   
   
   • Experience with asynchronous machines (Electrotechnical design, space vector control, dyno testing,…).
   
   
   • Real-Time embedded software knowledge.
   
   
   • Familiarity with aerospace regulation, standard ex. CS25 and its MOC, DO-160, E-19, SC-VTOL.
