Your Role in the Mission:
The Electric Powertrain Department is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the development, integration and testing of the advanced electric power distribution system for Elysian Aircraft's next-generation electric aircraft. This position requires technical expertise, innovative thinking, and the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to push the boundaries of powertrain technology in sustainable aviation.

Your Day-to-Day:
Support the Electric Powertrain System design:
The Electric Powertrain system is composed by the distribution systems (busbars, sensing, monitoring, layout and wiring) protection systems (circuit breaker, SSPC), inverter and motors.
Activities includes specification, calculation, simulation, failure analysis of the component that will be outsourced or co-designed with suppliers.
Prototyping:
Support equipment definition, selection and procurement.
Assembly of demonstrators (Test Benches & subsystems).
Perform Testing and Validation:
Support the demonstrator test definition and planning
Perform testing and validation
Cross-team Collaboration:
Work closely with the energy storage, structural, and propulsion integration team to ensure seamless integration of powertrain components.
Support project steering committees.

Required:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
3+ years of practical experience in the field of Electric power Distribution and Conversion.
Hands-on experience with static and dynamic electrotechnics/mechatronics systems : Equipment set-up and commissioning, test plan definition and execution.
Knowledge of PMSM machine, power electronics (SSPC, Inverter), cabling and busbar design and sizing.
Knowledge with design, modelling and simulation (Electrical, Systems, Thermal).
Preferred:
Experience with asynchronous machines (Electrotechnical design, space vector control, dyno testing,…).
Real-Time embedded software knowledge.
Familiarity with aerospace regulation, standard ex. CS25 and its MOC, DO-160, E-19, SC-VTOL.
