The team is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts and agreements. They manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to Insight\u2019s business. They also connect with and manage third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors, design and deliver legal training to the business, and stay up to date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules, and regulations.\n\nThe EMEA Legal Counsel provides accurate and timely legal advice on all law and corporate matters which impact, or may impact upon, Insight. They are primarily responsible for providing high level internal legal advice and support for all teammates whilst ensuring legal compliance. In addition, the EMEA Legal Counsel provides legal advice and support to all areas of Insight\u2019s business across EMEA, as well as providing further support to Insight\u2019s wider global business on a variety of legal matters.\n\nKEY DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n\u2022 Deliver timely and high-quality legal advice to the business in a practical and commercially focused way in relation to all relevant matters which reduce risk, resolve issues, and maximize opportunities for the business to deliver its goals.\n\n\u2022 Contribute to several legal projects and or legal change management activities, act as the \u2018subject level expert\u2019 around applicable laws and regulations.\n\n\u2022 Maintain up to date legal knowledge on all areas relevant to Insight\u2019s business.\n\n\u2022 Advise internal clients (e.g., Sales, HR, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Services Delivery teams) and senior management around legal issues and risks, company policies and procedures, compliance with laws, and contracts.\n\n\u2022 Draft and negotiate commercial contracts entered by the business, provide training on this matter to the wider Insight business.\n\n\u2022 Assist the business to resolve disputes and manage day-to-day litigation.\n\n\u2022 Flag potential legal risks to senior management and propose practical mitigation options to ensure that risks are avoided and or reduced.\n\n\u2022 Respond to legal requests from internal clients and summarize and communicate legal concepts and recommendations that can be clearly understood and acted upon.\n\n\u2022 Ensure broad legal compliance including compliance with Data Protection legislation (GDPR).\n\n\u2022 Assist with legal research and projects as directed including managing legal issues that may arise in existing commercial relationships, compliance training, Human Resources matters, and the handling of legal disputes.\n\n\u2022 Assist in finding ways to save costs and increase margins.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE \u0026 EXPERIENCE\n\n\u2022 Educated to degree level \n\n\u2022 High level of written and spoken English and Dutch (and fluent in local jurisdiction language)\n\n\u2022 Fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word)\n\n\u2022 Holds relevant professional legal qualification in local jurisdiction\n\n\u2022 Ability to exercise judgement and deal with a reasonable level of complexity and non-routine issues including problem solving\n\n\u2022 Good interpersonal skills and communication skills \u2013 ability to liaise at all levels\n\n\u2022 Previous experience of working in an in-house legal capacity\n\n\u2022 Previous experience of working in the Technology industry\n
