For our New Process and Product Development group in Research & Technology we are looking for a:

Sr. Process Development Engineer

The profile: As a process development engineer and member of the R&T team, you are leading projects to scale up products and processes to commercial production in our Amsterdam and Bayport plants. Our products range from state-of-the-art catalysts for the petrochemical industry to engineered inorganic substances for various applications. Our processes range from unit operations to complete production plant lines.

Key focus and responsibilities:

• Pilot scale development of new catalysts for various applications (e.g. hydroprocessing and clean fuels production).
• Extending our process technology knowledge in particle technology, extrusion, impregnation, drying, transport phenomena and modeling.
• Leading plant trials for new products and/or new production processes.
• Interface between R&D, analytical and plant technology departments to develop and transfer product and process know-how.
• Supporting the plant in troubleshooting manufacturing issues and process related excursions.
• Identify technological innovation that will improve the quality, efficiency, safety, sustainability and profit of our products and processes.

Requirements:

• PhD/PDEng degree in Chemical Engineering or Master with minimum 3 years of working experience
• Relevant work experience is a plus, preferably in the field of solids processing or
• catalysis.
• Affinity with R&D and process equipment, bringing theory into practice.
• Skilled in working in a laboratory or pilot plant setting; hands-on mindset.
• Affinity with commercial production environment.
• Strong knowledge of experimental design, data analysis, data mining, and process control.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project management
• Proactive, driven, and decisive; flexible and resilient; analytical,
• solution-oriented and pragmatic
• Excellent communication skills in English (Proficiency in Dutch is preferred)
• Good interpersonal skills and eager to work in multidisciplinary teams.
