Expert Lead Risk Reporting Business Lending

You define how we manage the business value and how we deliver a differentiating customer experience. You enable your squads to deliver and run the product effectively. We therefore need someone who can contribute to a continuous, emerging, all-round product vision that is covering all elements for the product life cycle, with the goal to increase customer impact and deliver business value.  

Your role

As Expert Lead Risk Reporting within Business Lending, you are the driving force behind the delivery of high‑quality, end‑to‑end credit risk reporting solutions. You lead a team of specialists responsible for the transformation of complex data into data products for regulatory reporting and providing reliable insights for the digital products of Business Lending. You drive data quality at its core, and you play a key role in strengthening our data landscape, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and enabling accurate and timely reporting. You drive data‑driven decision‑making across the Tribe and act as a key liaison between Risk, Business, and IT, ensuring strong alignment throughout the data and reporting chain.

You do this by steering a Digital Product team that works on the Business Lending Reporting & Insights (BLRI) product by providing them with strategic direction, by coaching them on the job, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders around the product. The people who work in the squads report hierarchically to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best. You set direction, you help them to develop their craftsmanship, and you have continuous conversations about their career development. 

As an Expert Lead you report hierarchically to a Centre of Expertise Lead, where multiple products come together.

Roles and responsibilities 

As an Expert Lead, you: 

• Own a product (end-to-end), which means you are accountable for the product vision, including functionality, technology, user experience design, monetizing the functionality (or interaction pattern with internal consumers), how to acquire users and customers and offline experiences that are needed to deliver on the product’s value 

• Take collective ownership of the product, including engineering and architecture aspects 

• Define the roadmap of the product to maximize business value through prioritization of the product backlog, under consideration of relevant stakeholder needs, as well as functional as non-functional requirements as risks, reliability, IT Run, LCM

• Focus on delivery through collaboration and bring theability to bring people together to work towards the same purpose.  

• Take responsibility, steer strategy and realisations based on facts and data, and display managerial courage to question and make decisions. You are a mandated IT asset owner, and data owner for the product and accept test results and approves (IT) changes on the product 

• Ensure adherence to Process Control Standards 

• Build the craftmanship of the employees in the team 

• Ensure compliancy with relevant regulation and internal/external requirements  

• Are the hierarchical manager of a team of Data Analysts, working in multiple squads organized around your product 

What are we looking for?

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of data analysts and specialists.
• Define and execute the vision for Risk Reporting within Business Lending.
• Align priorities with Tribe objectives, stakeholder needs (ranging from Front Office towards risk parties) and regulatory requirements.

IT Asset Ownership & Governance

• Own and manage IT assets related to risk reporting and data platforms, ensuring lifecycle management, security, and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to IT governance frameworks and internal control standards.

Regulatory Compliance

• Guarantee compliance with ECB, CAS, BCBS239 and internal regulatory requirements for data, risk reporting and IT systems.
• Implement robust controls for data integrity.
• Represent the Tribe in regulatory discussions and audits.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure high-quality data delivery for risk reporting purposes.
• Drive initiatives to improve data quality and governance (data stewardship).
• Oversee data management activities, including architecture, design and performance optimization.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Promote data-driven solutions to enhance lending journeys.
• Foster collaboration between Business, Credit Risk, and Data Management.

Proven track record and technical skills: 

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Data Science, Statistics or alike, and/or equivalent experience.
• You are analytically strong and are a star in assessing and solving problems, making analyses, and sharing results with impact
• You have experience with querying languages (e.g. SQL, SAS) and BI tooling (e.g. Cognos and PowerBI)
• Experience in defining strategies and policies in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames 
• A proven track record in processes of digitalization, backlog management and resource planning 
• Experience in product/service management and development 
• Sound experience in building and executing strategic roadmaps
• Affinity or experience with Business Lending and Credit Risk Management
• Ability to influence and convince not only peers but also the stakeholders based on analytical results.
