Facility & Site Specialist (Facilitair Specialist)

We are currently looking for a Facility Specialist to join us at our facility in Tiel, Netherlands. In this role, you work closely with your line manager to ensure that everything in and around our premises runs smoothly, safely, and in an organized manner. You are highly visible within the organization and act as the go-to point of contact for facilities-related matters with both internal and external stakeholders. You play an important role in the day-to-day functioning of our employees; thanks to your efforts, the working environment is safe, tidy, and well-facilitated.

In this position, you combine facility-related tasks with safety responsibilities. You are an active member of the Emergency Response (BHV) team and support the BHV organization at an operational level. You identify areas for improvement in terms of safety, order, and cleanliness and independently take action where needed.

Key responsibilities:

You will have a broad, hands-on role in which you are, among other things, responsible for:

• Ensure the smooth, safe, and well-organized operation of the premises, maintaining high standards of safety, order, and cleanliness in compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all facilities-related matters, working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Combine facilities management with safety responsibilities by actively participating in the Emergency Response (BHV) team and supporting BHV operations, including first aid equipment checks and training coordination.
• Independently assess and manage facilities requests end-to-end, including supplier coordination, preparation of contract discussions, and follow-up on service delivery and quality agreements.
• Coordinate building and equipment maintenance, cleaning services, workwear, office supplies, security, and access control.
• Support daily business operations by facilitating meetings, internal events, and maintaining a clean, well-equipped, and professional canteen environment.
• Manage operational assets such as the vehicle fleet (vans and lease cars) and company IT equipment, including mobile phones and laptops.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, particularly for warehouse and logistics functions.
• Resolve ad-hoc facilities and operational issues quickly and effectively, while maintaining accurate administrative records and monthly reporting.

Key requirements:

You are a true hands-on professional with a service-oriented mindset. You maintain an overview, even in busy situations, are stress-resistant, and know how to set priorities effectively. You are confident in taking responsibility, are proactive, and easily liaise with various stakeholders.

• At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience;
• At least an MBO-4 level of education, preferably in facilities management or a related field;
• Flexibility; especially at the beginning and end of the day, it can be very busy. You are also willing to work occasionally in the evening or on weekends;
• You hold a BHV certificate or are willing to obtain one;
• Strong communication and negotiation skills;
• Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
