FCC Customer Tax Compliance Specialist (Goverance and implementation)

Join ING’s Customer Tax Compliance Team (CTC) and help safeguard the integrity of our global banking operations by ensuring compliance with international customer tax regulations. We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer with a strong interest in customer tax compliance and a proactive mindset. This role offers opportunities to grow into a senior expert position and lead strategic compliance initiatives. The position is located in Amsterdam.

The Team

You will work in a fast changing, international environment within CTC which is part of the Financial Crime Compliance Advisory Team. Our team collaborates globally to implement and monitor compliance with key regulations such as FATCA, CRS, US withholding tax (including QI regime), and Customer Tax Integrity (CTI). It is a dynamic environment in which we need to implement in coming period new regulations like Platform Reporting, Crypto Asset Service Provider Reporting (CARF) and a new European Withholding regime (FASTER). 

This role is about striking the right balance between risk and business goals. You’ll help the business make smart, compliant decisions - not just say ‘no’. You’ll be part of a team that values knowledge, flexibility, and soft skills

Roles and responsibilities

• Provide reports to management and local compliance teams on CTC topics.

• Assess and challenge CTC risks linked to ING’s activities and perform consistency checks on local risk assessments (RAC).

• Monitor and ensure timely and correct remediation of identified CTC issues and events across entities.

• Investigate and analyze circumstances that create compliance risks.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to balance interests and achieve compliance goals.

• Contribute to change projects that strengthen ING’s compliance and control framework.

We are looking for the following knowledge and experience:

• Understand the business and have strong professional knowledge of the FCC domain, related processes, technology, and developments.

Experience & Skills:

• University degree.

• 5+ years of proven experience in (international) compliance or financial crime compliance.

• Knowledge of customer tax topics.

• Familiarity with banking processes, procedures, and systems.

• Proficient in iRisk, PowerBI/Cognos, and Excel.

• Experience in non-financial risk management (risk assessments, key control testing, issue management, reporting).

• Self-starter with learning agility and an innovative mindset.

• Ability to work across functions and geographies.

• Strong analytical and writing skills, with sound judgment.

• Excellent command of English (verbal and written), Dutch is a plus.
