Field Integration Engineer (UAV Systems)

Job Description - Field Integration Engineer (UAV Systems)

Join the Future of Autonomous Flight

Are you passionate about bridging the gap between cutting-edge code and the physical world? We are currently supporting a fast-growing, innovative technology company that is redefining autonomy for UAV platforms, enabling drones to navigate complex environments with precision. We are looking for a highly skilled Field Robotics Integration Engineer to join their team—a professional who thrives on solving real-world challenges and takes pride in seeing their work perform in the field.

Your Mission

As a Field Robotics Integration Engineer, you are the crucial link between core software technology and hardware partners. You will travel internationally to integrate high-end autonomy stacks onto diverse UAV platforms, ensuring systems perform flawlessly under operational conditions. This role is designed for the engineer who wants to be where the action happens.

What you will focus on:

  • System Integration: Lead the end-to-end deployment of advanced autonomy software onto various UAV architectures.

  • Field Operations: Troubleshoot, test, and optimize systems on-site. You will diagnose complex hardware/software interactions and implement rapid solutions.

  • Engineering Synergy: Act as the primary technical interface between the internal development team in Delft and global partners.

  • Ownership: Take full accountability for your project deployments, providing feedback to the R&D team to drive continuous product improvement.

Who You Are

  • Technical Expertise: You hold a degree in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of sensor fusion, navigation, and embedded systems.

  • Operational Resilience: You have a "can-do" attitude. When a hardware issue arises in the field, you stay calm and find the solution.

  • Global Mindset: You enjoy international travel. You are comfortable with rotational assignments (typically 3 weeks on-site, followed by time at the Delft hub or working remotely).

  • Communication: You are able to communicate technical concepts clearly to partners, clients, and internal stakeholders.

What We Offer

  • Real-World Impact: Your work will directly influence the capabilities of next-generation UAVs used in critical sectors.

  • Growth Environment: The company provides a structured technical career path (Engineering Levels L1–L3+) where your performance and ownership lead to clear professional advancement.

  • Balanced Lifestyle: A hybrid work environment. When not traveling, you have the flexibility to work between the Delft office and your home.

  • Top-Tier Benefits: A competitive salary, comprehensive coverage of travel expenses and field-work allowances, and the high-end hardware you need to excel.

  • International Team: Collaborate with a world-class group of engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs in a fast-paced, inclusive atmosphere.

Ready to Launch?

If you are an engineer who thrives in the field and wants to play a key role in the evolution of autonomous systems, we want to hear from you.
