The Finance Manager Americas oversees financial operations including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, oversee payroll processing, and cost management. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, supports strategic decision-making, and manages financial reporting. It is the top finance position for a specific location, operating within organizational frameworks and policies.
Purpose of the role
Manage and coordinate financial functions to meet organizational requirements. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, donor requirements, provide accurate reporting, and support organizational growth through sound financial planning and management
Responsibilities and duties
Manage the area-level financial operations ensuring accurate and timely accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Assist in cash flow forecasts, prepare funds requests, and manage bank relationships in the area.
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in the area. Working closely with the Area HR business partner on area payroll processing and reconciliation.
Oversee the financial administration of projects to ensure compliance with donor requirements and reporting, internal grant management processes, and compliance with AS processes.
Work closely with the Project Finance Managers and finance officers and provide support when required.
Assist in developing financial policies, financial systems and process improvements and ensure compliance in the implementation.
Identify and monitor risk parameters and report deviations and recommend risk mitigation measures.
Deliver accurate and timely internal and project financial reporting.
Coordinate and deliver institutional and project audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings (if applicable) supervise and coach the area of project finance staff and monitor their performance.
Assist the Finance Manager – Proposal Budgeting in drafting donor budgets (if requested).

3–6 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
Strong knowledge of financial management systems, accounting software and MS Office.
1–3 years of managerial experience supervising teams and resources.
