The job

As Financial Controller, you will be part of a start-up, supported by the Cefetra Group. You will join the Finance Department and report to the (interim) Finance Director. In this role, you will take ownership of the financial administration and ensure strong internal controls over financial flows and risks. You will contribute to the preparation of financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Your strong analytical mindset and attention to detail will enable you to challenge assumptions where needed and provide valuable insights that drive informed decision making. Beyond your own responsibilities, you will actively share your knowledge and expertise with colleagues, helping to further strengthen the department and drive continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities are:

• Managing the financial administration, incl. accounts payable & receivable, payments and bank statement processing, and the general ledger.

• Monthly financial reporting, incl. reconciliation of trade and financial applications.

• Ensuring timely and correct submission of VAT returns in various countries, including the Netherlands and Germany.

• Analysing data and preparing internal and external reports.

• Involved in budget preparation and forecasting.

• Assisting with the audit of the annual accounts by external auditors.

• Maintaining the control framework.

• Optimizing and streamlining various financial and administrative processes.

Who you are
Most important is that you are critical and analytical, but also pragmatic when needed. To be successful at Suntree Foods BV, you need to be a self-starter with an open mind and a curious nature. We would love to hear your thoughts on the duties and responsibilities of the role. Ideally:

• You have a master’s degree (or equivalent working level) in Finance & Control.

• You have experience in financial administration or accountancy.

• You have knowledge of financial reporting standards and principles.

• You are fluent in English (spoken and written).

• You are familiar with international VAT legislation and able to apply it in practice.
