Financial Risk Officer – Counterparty Credit Risk – Junior Customer Journey Expert
ING Bank N.V. (ING) is looking for a Financial Risk Officer within the Measures & Methodologies (“M&M”) team, under Financial Risk/Counterparty Credit Risk (currently still under Financial Risk/Trading Risk Management).
The team
The team is a global function within ING Financial Risk that deals with modelling of counterparty credit risk exposures as model owner.
The work environment can be characterized as multi-cultural, informal and result orientated. We work agile, meaning we interact with many departments across the FM value chain and seek for best practice inside and outside the organization.
Role responsibilities
Supporting Potential Future Exposure (PFE) modelling for internal limit utilisation estimations based on Monte Carlo and Add-on methodologies.
The responsibilities will include:
Assessment of counterparty exposure risk profiles and pre-deal checks of potential future exposures of exotic and structured deals.
Manual adjustments of risk estimations within ACR risk system of already existing deals.
Preparation of reviews of counterparty risk weighting factors for the whole range of financial asset classes covering ING trading portfolio.
Active participation in the project of implementation and monitoring of models for counterparty risk exposures,
Testing of market scenario evolution models for all asset classes.
Back testing of risk profile estimations of all types of derivative products.
How to Succeed
We are looking for a junior professional who understands the mechanics of financial products, familiar with counterparty risk methodologies, their implementations within risk systems and is prepared to support Risk projects and risk assessments daily activities within a challenging business environment.
The daily activity requires analysis of trading and market datasets, writing model specifications, assessment of exposures for complex and structured products, tracing and correcting ING risk systems’ issues.
Our more senior colleagues will support your activities to allow you to learn on the job.
Your profile
Good undergraduate degree in a numerate subject.
Understanding of financial derivatives pricing and risk measurement methodologies.
Good analytical skills with ability to drill down to a very detailed level.
Good communication skills as direct communication with front office and system development units will be required.
A hands-on approach, to be able to work independently as well as in the team.
Ability to work under urgency pressure meeting strict deadlines.
Proficient in Excel, SQL and Python. Other programming skills would be an advantage.
