Are you passionate about climate action and logistics? We’re looking for a hands-on and motivated Fleet Electrification Junior Project Manager (EU) to support Smart Freight Centre’s efforts to scale up electric truck deployment across Europe. If you’re organized, proactive, and ready to dive into projects that drive real environmental change, we’d love to hear from you.
✈️ About Smart Freight Centre:
Think about the package that just arrived at your doorstep. The products on store shelves, or the goods being shipped across oceans. Logistics is everywhere, powering the world we live in. And because it’s everywhere, it’s also one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions globally.
That’s where Smart Freight Centre (SFC) steps in. We’re tackling the carbon footprint of logistics head-on, working with businesses, governments, and key players around the globe. Our mission? To transform the logistics sector into a zero-emission industry by 2050, or hopefully even sooner. Want to help drive this change? Join us.
✏️ About the position:
Freight trucks are a major source of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, especially in areas already facing environmental challenges. Electrifying these trucks is one of the most effective ways to cut the climate and health impact of road freight.
As FEC Junior Project Manager, you'll support the delivery of collaborative projects that help break down barriers to electric truck adoption. You’ll work within our Fleet Electrification Coalition (FEC): a growing group of companies, policymakers, and infrastructure providers working toward shared targets: 30% of truck sales zero-emission by 2030, and 100% by 2040.
You’ll report to the Senior Program Manager EU and work closely with the rest of the team to manage activities, engage with stakeholders, and ensure we’re keeping progress on track. It’s a great opportunity for someone who’s organized, motivated, and eager to grow in the space of clean transport. ⭐ Here’s an idea of what tasks you might be working on:
Project Coordination:
Help manage and track project activities and deliverables
Coordinate workplans, timelines, and documentation
Support internal planning meetings and project workflows
Stakeholder Engagement:
Assist in building relationships with shippers, carriers, investors, manufacturers, and other partners
Help organize and follow up on meetings, calls, and email exchanges
Use Case and Financial Support:
Contribute to identifying electric truck use cases with strong potential
Help gather data and assist with the development of tailored financial strategies
Event and Dialogue Support:
Support the logistics and planning of online and in-person meetings and workshops
Help prepare materials, take notes, and follow up with participants
Content and Reporting:
Assist in developing reports, presentations, and project documentation
Contribute to internal summaries and external communication materials
Collaboration:
Work with colleagues across different teams to align our fleet electrification work with other strategic goals
⭐ We are looking for someone who has:
3+ years of experience in project coordination, logistics, supply chain, sustainability, or related fields
A basic understanding of clean transport, electric trucks, or sustainable logistics
Strong organizational skills—you enjoy managing tasks and keeping track of details
A hands-on and proactive attitude—you’re always ready to help out
Good communication skills—you can support professional writing and stakeholder engagement
Confidence using tools like MS Office; familiarity with platforms like Salesforce or SharePoint is a plus
A Bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability, supply chain, or a similar field
Fluency in English (Dutch or other languages are a bonus)
Motivation to support a cause with global impact and join a team that’s driven by purpose
