📍 Location: Alkmaar, The Netherland | 3–6 months | 32+ hrs/week | €70–€80/hr

PhotonFirst is pushing the boundaries of photonic sensing technology in industries like aerospace, mobility, and energy. To support the upcoming release of our new product developments, we’re looking for a freelance System Engineer to assist the Lead System Engineer in completing the technical product dossiers.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Structuring and organizing system design documentation
• Supporting multidisciplinary (mechatronic) product development
• Working closely with engineers to ensure clarity and completeness
• Creating alignment across teams and technical deliverables

We’re looking for someone who:

  Has a strong background in system design documentation

  Is experienced in multidisciplinary environments

  Thrives in dynamic, high-tech scale-ups

  Is available for at least 32 hours/week – mostly on-site in Alkmaar
