Job Description - Google Cloud Platform Engineer





  • Help design, build and continuously improve the clients online platform.

  • Research, suggest and implement new technology solutions following best practices/standards.

  • Take responsibility for the resiliency and availability of different products.

  • Be a productive member of the team.





Requirements



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform.

  • Define technology standards and the future-state architecture for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including reference architectures, guiding principles, and solution building blocks.

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, System Architects, and other team members to develop and operate Google Cloud Platform services.

  • Lead the design and implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) across GCP, including service accounts, organizational policies, and modern authentication patterns.

  • Drive infrastructure automation and standardized provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong focus on Terraform and reusable modules.

  • Support team members in developing and maintaining new platform services by applying infrastructure-as-code and automation best practices.

  • Collaborate with FinOps stakeholders to incorporate billing visibility, cost control, and optimization practices into platform services.

  • Ensure security, compliance, and quality standards are consistently applied through design reviews, implementation validation, and continuous improvement.

  • Mentor engineers within the Google Cloud Platform team and contribute to cloud best practices, architectural patterns, and documentation.

  • Build proof of concepts (PoCs) and proof of value (PoVs) for new Google Cloud capabilities.

  • Maintain high-quality cloud architecture and design documentation.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Management, Electronics, or a related field.

  • Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform services.

  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation pipelines, particularly using Terraform.

  • Strong understanding of cloud billing models, cost allocation, and optimization strategies in enterprise environments.

  • Strong scripting and troubleshooting skills using Python and Bash.

  • Experience establishing enterprise-scale Google Cloud account structures and security models.

  • Experience configuring and managing Google Cloud Platform PaaS services.

  • Experience with containerized and serverless workloads, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Run.

  • Experience operating enterprise-scale cloud platforms with a focus on security, compliance, reliability, and performance.

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud-based delivery models.

  • Extensive knowledge of cloud-based data integration patterns and architectures.

  • Strong engineering and coding skills applied within Agile environments.

  • Knowledge of IT architecture methodologies and frameworks, such as TOGAF, to support cloud architecture and target architecture development.

  • Knowledge of IT service management methodologies and processes, including ITIL, with experience supporting the transition to Agile DevOps teams following the "You build it, you run it, you fix it" model.

  • Proven track record in technology road mapping, technical architecture design, and solution definition.
