Head of Technology Office

Reports to: Technology Strategy & Portfolio Director

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

JOB PURPOSE:

Join our Technology Strategy & Portfolio team to play a key role in shaping and activating the strategy and technology function of The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC).  We are seeking a dynamic talent with strong expertise in Strategy Enablement and Execution.

The newly created Technology function will drive the technology set-up, standalone design and implementation of all required technology capabilities to enable the growth and productivity ambitions of TMICC.

This role will shape and lead the Office of the Technology Function, which will require you to partner with the Technology Strategy and Portfolio Director, align with the Technology Leadership team and collaborate with other business leaders and partners.  

The successful candidate will be one that has Strong IT expertise, has a passion for IT strategy, change management, simplification, communication, and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Head of Technology Office will be a pivotal member of our team. This role involves providing strategic and operational support for our Technology Office, facilitating the development and execution of the IT strategy, and ensuring seamless communication and coordination within the IT department and across functions. The Head of Technology Office will play a critical role in shaping and developing the technology capabilities of the organization to drive innovation and efficiency.

Operations Management

• Owning and executing the Technology function’s governance; covering the Technology leadership meetings, townhalls, supplier relationship meetings, announcements, including agenda management and follow-up on action items. 

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of our Technology function: how we operate, how we work together, how we collaborate with our TMICC stakeholders, etc. Determine the KPIs and develop continuous improvements.

 Strategy Enablement: 

• Collaborate with the Technology Strategy & Portfolio Director in the development and implementation of the IT Strategy. Including development of the Vision, Mission and Strategic Priorities.

• Own the preparation of strategic plans, business cases, and presentations for the tech Organization, including any relevant board papers. 

• Coordinate and manage strategic initiatives and special projects as directed.

Partner Management: 

• Design and implement the Tech Organisations Partnership ecosystem  and organize QBRs, events and top-to-tops with our key partners.

• Create a structured system to manage partners effectively. Define processes for onboarding, communication, and performance tracking 

• Regularly evaluate partner performance using metrics to ensure mutual success. 

• Collaborate with Partners and internal stakeholders. Ensure alignment with strategy and goals 

 Leadership and Team Coordination: 

• Act as a liaison between the technology leaders, facilitating communication and collaboration across the department. 

• Support the Technology Strategy & Portfolio Director in managing and owning relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

 Continuous Improvement: 

• Identify opportunities & improvements within the broader Tech organisation 

• Promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the Tech organisation and as we grow, the broader IC organisation. 

Skills and Experience Required:

The preferred candidate would have 8 to 10 years of IT experience with following key skills:

Systemic and strategic thinking: Being able to consider longer term implications for the business, elevating the conversation to business, society, and ecosystems. A deep understanding of the business and levers to pull, engaging others to prioritise and pursue opportunities that deliver significant growth for TMICC.

Owner’s mindset: Using financial acumen, data, and insights to inform their thinking that both makes the complex simple for others, creating a sense of urgency and can show how those insights have created impact and delivered business value.

Functional, Business and Commercial Acumen: Understanding of various business and functional models, industry dynamics, and market trends is crucial, combined with a deep understanding of how TMICC serves consumers and correlatedly creating a Technology function poised to create a sustainable competitive and effective operation.

Analytical and problem-solving Expertise: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks, issues and dependencies

Desirable

• Exposure to new technology trends and AI and innovation processes

• Experience in Consumer Goods Industry

• Experience in IT Strategy / Consulting
