European Journalism Centre (EJC) is a non-profit based in the city of Maastricht, The Netherlands. Founded in 1992 it has been working independently and successfully to support, strengthen and develop journalism.
Our aim is that every journalist and news organisation in Europe shall benefit from an EJC programme or initiative. EJC embraces innovation and positive changes within the industry and is optimistic about the many exciting developments taking place across the media landscape in regards to new business models, new formats and technology. We aspire to be an essential resource and provide future insights so it can help journalism and media to innovate and flourish.
We believe that reimagining journalism is key.Interns will assist one of our teams with logistics and daily project management. Different tasks include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in various organisational and practical tasks.
Coordinating and communicating with relevant partners;
Assisting in administration;
Supporting different stages of report writing and drafting.
Interest in Journalism, media, innovation and freedom of press.
Student at an intermediate/higher vocational education (or just graduated) in Management Support, Financial Administration, Communication, Journalism or other relevant studies;
A hands on, pro-active mentality and ability to work independently;
Flexible working style, self-motivated and willing to learn;
Good oral and written communication skills, good command of English. Knowledge of another language is desirable;
Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of European Journalism foundation.

An internship in a dynamic international environment;
A four to six months agreement, internship compensation of Euro 300,00 (fulltime), and reimbursement of travel costs (public transport up to a maximum);
A working space in our nice office in the centre of Maastricht
