Location: Tilburg


Contract scope: 0,6-1 fte (24-40 hours per week)


Contract duration: 1 year


Monthly full-time salary: € 4.728 – € 6.433
Desired start date: as soon as possible

The position


As a Strategic Grant Developer, you support researchers in preparing the content of externally funded grant applications. You focus on consortium applications for which Tilburg Law School acts as coordinator or participant within funding frameworks such as those of NWO and Horizon Europe. You also contribute at a strategic level by advising on the substantive domains in which Tilburg Law School can position itself to create funding opportunities. You work in close collaboration with both the support services and with the Vice Dean for Research, Heads of Department, and Research Program Leaders.


 


Your tasks and responsibilities include:



  • co-authoring research proposals under the lead of the applying researcher(s).

  • coordinating the substantive part of the application process.

  • building networks with both academic institutions and societal partners.

  • strategically and proactively identifying relevant funding opportunities that align with the profile of Tilburg Law School.


 


As a Strategic Grant Developer, you are able to bring together and facilitate collaboration between internal, national, and international partners with diverse backgrounds within the four research programs of Tilburg Law School (see here). Affinity with one or more of these research programs is therefore desirable. With the role of Strategic Grant Developer, Tilburg Law School aims to further develop overarching themes such as artificial intelligence, vulnerability of citizens, and a resilient rule of law.


 


The profile



  • You hold a master’s degree in law or public administration and have affinity with one or more of Tilburg Law School’s research programs within themes such as artificial intelligence, vulnerability of citizens, and/or a resilient rule of law.

  • A PhD in Law or Public Administration is not required but is considered an asset.

  • You have demonstrable experience in writing grant applications, for example at an academic institution or a consultancy firm.

  • You possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Dutch is not required but is considered an asset.

  • You can maintain an overview independently, work well under deadlines, and have an eye for detail.

  • You gain energy from liaising with multiple stakeholders who may have differing interests.


 


The offer

  • Tilburg University offers excellent employment conditions in a pleasant working environment: Employment of 0.6 – 1.0 fte (24-40 hours per week).

  • Salary between € 4.728 and € 6.433 gross per month for full-time employment (UFO-profile Policy advisor 3, salary scale 11). Tilburg University uses a neutral remuneration system based on relevant work experience.

  • This is a vacancy whose work is temporarily funded based on project funding, in accordance with Article 2.3 paragraph 7 sub b CLA DU. You will be given a contract for 12 months.

  • Vacation pay of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.

  • Over 8 weeks of vacation leave.

  • Hybrid working with home working allowance (€2 p/day) and internet allowance (€25 p/month).

  • Reimbursement sustainable commuting: walking, cycling, and public transport.

  • Options model for additional leave, pension, a bicycle or personal training.

  • Moving allowance (subject to conditions).

The letter selection is scheduled for 2 March; you will be informed shortly thereafter. The first round of interviews will take place on 13 March. These interviews will be held in person, and candidates are therefore expected to be present on site in Tilburg. A possible second interview will take place on 27 March.
