We are looking for a dynamic and proactive (jr.) SHEQ Manager to oversee and drive the safety, health, environment, and quality management systems within Smit Lamnalco's operations. The SHEQ Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with international standards, promoting a safety-first culture, and implementing best practices to minimize risk and enhance operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

• SHEQ responsible for several international contracts/projects.
• Support implementation and compliance of SHEQ policies, procedures, and strategies on all projects in line with company objectives and industry standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with operational teams to promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
• Monitor compliance with local regulations, international standards, and industry-specific requirements.
• Act as the point of contact for client inquiries and audits related to SHEQ.
• Manage emergency response plans and ensure readiness for critical situations.
• Roll-out SHEQ improvement programs and safety campaigns.

You will report to the Group Manager SHEQ in the Netherlands.

Who are we looking for?

The newest addition to our SHEQ team will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management).
• Bring 5-10 years’ experience in a SHEQ /Safety officer role within the maritime, oil & gas, or related industries. Having worked as seafarers is a plus.
• Knowledge about international standards e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM, ISPS and OVMSA;
• Has a pro-active and collaborative approach, enabling engagement with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
• Fluent in the English language (verbally and in writing);
• Certification in SHEQ-related disciplines is a plus. eg auditor.

Being authorized to work in the Netherlands is mandatory. The SHEQ Manager will be based in the Rotterdam. This is not a rotational position
