Job Description - Key Account Manager


The Company

The Coffee Quest is a socially responsible, green coffee company committed to building a sustainable and profitable value chain. Our team of around 50 coffee professionals is based in four countries: Colombia, the Netherlands, United States and Brazil. We aim to achieve this goal by directly connecting growers to roasters and seeking fair, sustainable pricing for all value-adding activities. By working together, we hope to create a strong, future-proof value chain for all stakeholders.

What we do, and how we do it

As a company, we work with suppliers in 10 different countries to source coffee from over 26,000 farming families. We pay a premium for their coffee and incentivize value-adding activities, such as improved growing and post-harvest practices, to increase the quality of our products. Our customers are willing to pay a higher price for these higher-quality products.


The Coffee Quest is dedicated to bringing specialty coffee to market, providing roasters in Europe and the United States with easy access to a wide range of green coffee. We offer knowledge, storytelling, quality control, and digital content to support our customers and work closely with them to plan their green coffee requirements. We reinvest part of our profits back into the producers through impact programs, to build a sustainable coffee chain for the future.


The role of Key Account Manager

We’re looking for a Key Account Manager to strengthen our commercial team. You’ll be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of high-value clients across Europe. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building relationships, takes initiative, and enjoys travelling to meet roasters and attend industry events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-turnover clients.

  • Take the lead in customer communication, account planning, and sales strategies.

  • Create annual plans with clients to forecast needs and secure long-term collaboration

  • Use systems to manage client data, sales orders, and inventory (e.g. Exact Online)

  • Travel across Europe for client visits and events.



Requirements


  • 3–5 years of experience in a B2B commercial or account management role

  • Solid understanding of ERP systems 

  • Strong initiative and problem-solving mindset

  • Able to work both independently and as a supportive team player

  • Excellent communication and planning skills

  • Experience in green coffee sales is a strong plus

  • Fluent in English (other EU languages are a plus)

  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe
