Due to significant commercial growth in this sector, WSP Power and Energy is seeking to enhance the expertise of our Civil Engineering team. We are currently looking for a Lead Structural Engineer based in Arnhem.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

We are seeking a Lead Engineer with a background in High Voltage Substation design and a good Civil Engineering background with Concrete and steel.

The role will involve:

• Leading and developing a team of 1-5 Engineers on specific projects at any given time


• Working closely with our Project Management team and conducting client meetings


• Lead civil design for substations, including site layout, foundations, and structural components. Collaborate closely with the electrical engineers to integrate systems


• Serve has the main point of contact with the clients and present technical reports and proposals


• Ensure designs and construction follow health, safety, and environmental regulations.


• Enforce quality standards, perform inspections, and ensure adherence to specifications.

Our Civil Engineering team sits within the wider Power and Energy business unit based in Arnhem. Our civil engineering team comprises of 29 professionals striving for excellence. You will be working on a number of projects with a specific focus on High Voltage substations. These projects are both local and international. You will be working in a diverse team that has an international composition. This is a highly skilled team with significant growth opportunities.

WHAT IF IT WAS YOU?

• 8+ Years experience working with a similar role.


• B2 Level Dutch and full fluency in English


• Proactive team motivated mindset


• A degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) with extensive experience in high voltage substations or similar electrical infrastructure projects


• Experience with software tools for structural analysis, design, and drafting (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit).


• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, including proficiency in managing teams, budgets, and schedules.
