The Action:

We’re looking for a creative, highly motivated and talented Lead Game Programmer to take charge of the technical development for our branded games on Roblox. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you will lead the development team, be responsible for a clean, scalable, maintainable code base, and make architectural decisions required to realize our branded games. 

We are looking for opinionated developers that can back up their claims, love spending nights and weekends creating side projects, apps, websites, games, render engines, home assistant workflows and pride themselves on their ability to create the most amount of value in the least amount of code. You love talking about code and are able to explain it in a way where even your rubber duck understands. If you’re an autodidact with a passion for game development, teaching, and rapid development cycles, this role is for you. Of course, game development experience is very important to us, but if you tick all the boxes except the professional experience one, we’d still love to talk to you!

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead the programming team to the successful implementation of the design of our games (Roblox)


• Write extensible core game systems that are easily adopted by other developers and projects.


• Coach and mentor the other developers to write efficient, maintainable code


• Design and own the CI/CD pipeline to optimize the process of building and releasing all of our games


• Be on top of platform updates, development trends and best practices


• Make architectural decisions on frameworks, libraries and pipelines


• Review code from the development team to keep the codebase clean and structured


• Innovate and implement advanced game features, pushing the boundaries of what's possible on the Roblox platform.

What you'll bring:

• 4+ years of working in a software/game development team.


• 2+ years of experience in a responsible position of a development team (manager exp. not required, but seniority is)


• Experience with single threaded, event driven execution model languages (Javascript, Typescript, Lua, Python)


• Experience working with game development engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot, Bevy, your own engine?) with experience in a Social gaming engine (Roblox Studio, UEFN) being a big plus.


• You’re passionate about playing, enjoying and/or working on videogames, especially games with a UGC component (Fortnite, Roblox, etc…)


• Proven ability and excited to quickly learn new technologies.


• Passion for code. We’d like to hear about your side-projects, not because we need to see them (we’d love to of course!), but because we are keen to find people that are naturally motivated to build better games & better tools. 


• You are an effective communicator, approachable mentor and have great interpersonal communication skills 


• Fluency in Dutch and English

Nice-to-Have:

• Have shipped AA or AAA titles 


• Have built and released your own Roblox/Fortnite custom games


• Experience with working in an Agile/Scrum environment.


• Experience in a digital marketing agency.


• Experience with Roblox Studio or Fortnite Creative.


• Other game development skills like design, art, audio, etc..
