As Legal Counsel, you will work closely with the trading teams and play a key part in maintaining the high standard of legal advice across the firm. The role reports to the General Counsel.

Responsibilities
Contract management: Draft, review and negotiate contracts across the full lifecycle, and act as trusted advisor to the business on commercial legal matters
Corporate matters: Handle corporate housekeeping, including board and shareholder resolutions, and manage stakeholder engagement
Corporate structuring: Support corporate optimisation projects and entity set-up, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors
Privacy, IP and AI: Advise on complex and bespoke topics with legal impact on the organisation
Legal technology: Help the department adopt AI tools in a controlled way, working with our technology teams on the guardrails
Novel matters: Assess the legal impact of new products and markets as they arise
Cross-functional work: Partner with Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Business Development to keep cross-functional projects efficient and aligned
Laws and regulations: Track upcoming legislation relevant to Da Vinci's activities and advise the business on its impact
Legal risk awareness: Represent Legal across the organisation and build awareness of legal risk
Requirements
Law degree from the EU, UK or US
3 to 5 years of work experience since graduating, gained in private practice and/or in a legal function at a regulated financial services firm. Experience advising financial services clients is a strong plus
A “go the extra mile” mentality: you follow through until the job is done, with judgement on when to go deep and when to stay practical
A team player who enjoys collaborating and thrives on varied work, where no two days are the same
Proven contract experience: drafting from scratch, commercial negotiation, and managing business and counterparty expectations
Experience with corporate housekeeping, including board and shareholder resolutions and meetings
Affinity with entity set-up across jurisdictions, corporate restructuring and (tax) optimisation projects
Curiosity about emerging topics such as artificial intelligence, both as a legal subject and as a way of working
Comfortable using AI tools in day-to-day legal work, and keen to help the department get more out of them
