Manager – Omgevingsteam Midden-Nederlands

The environment team now consists of approximately 42 professionals in the field of:

Environmental management

Permits

Communication

Spatial planning

Land matters

GIS specialisms

Your duties include, among other things:

Conducting individual conversations, development discussions, and performance reviews.

Coaching and guiding employees in their professional development.

Promoting job satisfaction, engagement, and a healthy work-life balance.

Creating a safe, inclusive, and professional work environment.

Monitoring staffing levels, workload, and capacity within projects.

Identifying bottlenecks in workforce planning and contributing to appropriate solutions.

Promoting collaboration between disciplines, projects, and locations.

Supporting knowledge sharing and further developing a uniform working method within the team.

Supporting the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new employees.

Act as a sparring partner for employees and the responsible team manager.

Work area and location

You will be working for two of the three regions: Flevoland, Gelderland, and Utrecht. Because you are visible and approachable to the team, we expect you to work at least two to three days from our head office in Arnhem, the base for these provinces. Thursday is the fixed day for collaboration. You can work the remaining days from home.

What are you bringing?

Experience and background

Higher professional or university level working and thinking skills. Extensive experience as a manager of professionals.

Experience with coaching, team development, and personnel management.

Experience within a project-based, technical, or spatial environment.

Experience within larger organizations with complex stakeholders.

Demonstrable experience with capacity management, workforce planning, and team coordination.

Affinity with disciplines such as environmental management, permits, communication, land matters, GIS, and spatial planning.

Knowledge of or ties to Flevoland, Gelderland, and Utrecht is a plus.

Languages required are: Dutch and English on a professional level
