The Opportunity:

The Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment at the terminal. This includes pumps, valves, pipelines, loading arms, rotating equipment, and other mechanical installations. The position ensures that mechanical assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory standards. The key aim is to maintain high asset reliability and support uninterrupted terminal operations through timely maintenance and effective problem resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on terminal mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, pipelines, loading arms, and associated infrastructure.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and perform troubleshooting on rotating and static equipment.
• Perform inspections and maintenance tasks according to maintenance schedules and CMMS work
  orders.
• Support equipment overhauls including pumps, gearboxes, and mechanical seals.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential failures, leaks, or safety hazards.
• Ensure all maintenance work is performed in accordance with applicable safety procedures, including Permit to Work and Lockout/Tagout.
• Participate in incident investigations and provide technical input when mechanical failures occur.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and feedback in the maintenance management system.
• Support contractors during major maintenance activities and ensure work is executed safely and in compliance with site procedures.
• Participate in terminal emergency response activities when required.
• Participate in the on-call shift for breakdown services

• The Mechanic must ensure work is performed in accordance with Permit to Work procedures, Lockout/Tagout requirements, and applicable HSSE policies.
  

Required Education, Qualifications, and/or Training:

• Technical vocational education (MBO level or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Technology, or similar.
• VCA Basic Safety Certificate (VCA Basis) or willingness to obtain.
• Training or certification related to rotating equipment maintenance is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices.
  
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in the oil, gas, chemical, or industrial sector.
• Experience working with pumps, valves, pipelines, and rotating equipment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical seals, bearings, and alignment techniques.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures including Permit to Work systems.
• Understanding of ATEX environments and working safely in hazardous areas.
• Basic understanding of maintenance systems (CMMS).
• Experience supporting contractors and working in multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
• Fluent in both Dutch and English.

Required Experience and Compentencies:

• At least 3 years of experience in the oil industry in a technical position
