Job Description - Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Product Development Group at Ore Energy.

In this role, you will:

Take role on designing and developing innovative battery systems and components, focusing on efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies into product designs, ensuring scalability and manufacturability.
Lead projects from conception through to completion, including patent drafting and prototype testing.
Stay abreast of industry trends, research, and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the company.
Take active role in the conceptualization, design, and optimization of next-generation battery systems, focusing on improving energy density, reducing charging times, and enhancing safety features.
Participate in component integration events, fabricating and testing first-of-a-kind prototypes to validate system design choices.
Take part in the initial deployed units for system validation.
Engage in component integration activities, constructing and testing unique prototypes to verify system design decisions.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 1 - 3 years of industry experience in mechanical design
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD)
Strong understanding of component design for manufacturing and assembly, particularly for plastic components
Knowledge of fabrication and prototyping techniques
Comfortable working in a shop or lab environment
Familiarity with validation testing
Previous experience in flow batteries, electrolyzers, fuel cells or similar technologies is preferred
