Your day at NTT DATA

The middleware engineer, specialist or architect operates and develops enterprise middleware platforms that connect applications, services and data. The role ensures that middleware environments remain secure, available and capable of supporting business-critical application services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor middleware services, queues, application servers and integration components.
• Resolve incidents relating to performance, connectivity, transactions and service availability.
• Install, configure, patch and upgrade middleware platforms.
• Support deployment and configuration activities across development, test and production environments.
• Troubleshoot application-to-middleware, database and network integration issues.
• Maintain certificates, connections, service accounts and security configurations.
• Support clustering, load balancing, resilience and disaster recovery.
• Automate recurring platform administration and deployment activities.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity analysis.
• Maintain operating procedures, platform documentation and knowledge articles.
• At senior levels, lead major upgrades, migrations and complex problem investigations.
• At L5, develop middleware architecture principles, patterns and platform roadmaps.

• IBM WebSphere.
• Red Hat JBoss or WildFly.
• Oracle WebLogic.
• Apache Tomcat.
• Integration and messaging technologies.
• API and web-service technologies.
• Java-based application platforms.
• Scripting and automation.
• Platform security, certificates and identity integration.

Relevant certifications
