Senior Project Engineer – Offshore Decommissioning (2026 Start)

Location: Hoofddorp, NL        |    Contract: 1-year (with intent to convert to permanent)

Availability: Full-time, 5 days/week    |    Remote Work: Partial flexibility after onboarding

Our client  is a leading contractor in the offshore oil and gas decommissioning market who deliver innovative solutions for the safe and efficient removal of ageing and shut-in assets from well abandonment to full topside and subsea infrastructure removal.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our growing team in 2026. This role is central to the planning and execution of complex offshore decommissioning operations, requiring both hands-on field experience and strong engineering background.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Engineering:

• Develop method statements for offshore and onshore execution activities.


• Scope definition for rope access, scaffolding, welding, and subsea ROV operations.


• Prepare lifting plans including drawings and rigging calculations.


• Create material take-offs (MTO), mobilization plans, and equipment lists.


• Support tendering processes for key services (e.g., rope access, welding, load-in).

Execution & Coordination

• Conduct site surveys and fabrication follow-ups; issue visit reports.


• Assist with vessel mobilization and yard activities prior to execution.


• Interface with subcontractors and clients to provide technical expertise.


• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and project documentation requirements.

Documentation & Support

• Contribute to project documentation: document registers, quality plans, etc.


• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure smooth project delivery.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Naval, or Structural Engineering


• Minimum 5 years of offshore project engineering experience, including:
  
  
  • Hook-up, upgrades/revamping, decommissioning,
  
  
  • topside removal,
  
  
  • load-in/load-out
  
  


• Direct offshore execution experience is essential.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of offshore construction methods and lifting operations.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Tekla or Inventor is a plus.


• Ability to perform basic structural calculations and interpret technical drawings.


• Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

• Comfortable with short offshore stays (up to 3 weeks, 1–2 times/year)

Languages

• English fluency required; Dutch or French is nice to have.
