Engineering at Damen Naval

At Damen Naval, our Engineering department is at the heart of designing and building innovative naval vessels. We transform concepts into precise technical specifications that comply requirements and drive projects from proposal to testing. Our team collaborates across disciplines, tackling marine systems, electrical functionalities, preservation, welding, adhesives, and joinery of accommodation and technical spaces. Join us to be part of a dynamic team delivering high-quality, groundbreaking naval solutions. We need Engineering expertise in the following areas:

• Integration Engineer Interior or Outfitting
  Transform design concepts into technical specifications for naval vessels. Oversee the engineering process, collaborate with suppliers, and maintain quality standards. Drive innovation in naval engineering within a dynamic team.
   
• Technical Specialist
  Provide expert guidance and ensure regulatory compliance in naval shipbuilding projects. Specialize in areas such as Smart Maintenance, Electrical Systems, Propulsion Systems, Vulnerability Reduction, or Preservation-Welding-Adhesives.
   
• Combat Systems Engineer
  Support the design, installation, verification, maintenance, and refits of advanced naval combat systems. You will work on above water and underwater sensor systems, weapon, command, and control systems. Contribute to the integration of these systems into a cohesive naval combat suite, ensuring compliance and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
   
• Electrical and/or Automation Engineer
  Design, review, and verify complex electrical and/or automation systems for advanced naval vessels. You will contribute from the proposal phase to the launch, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Collaborate with a talented team, manage vendors, and support the entire project lifecycle.
   
• Integration Engineer Marine Systems
  Design and integrate complex marine systems into naval vessels. Work closely with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless component integration and support the lifecycle of naval projects.
   
• Systems Verification Engineer
  Ensure compliance with set requirements by establishing system requirements, linking documents, defining verification cases, and specifying test specifications for physical tests. Oversee project deliverables and maintain the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM).
   
• Functional Application Specialist 3DX
  Lead the development and design of engineering functionalities in the 3Dexperience (3DX) platform. Drive efficiency and effectiveness across engineering processes, ensuring cutting-edge PLM technology implementation.

In each of these areas we are seeking professionals of all experience levels: (Junior) Engineers, Team Leads, Subcontract Managers and Subdepartment Managers.

Skills & experience

If you want to join Damen Naval and shape the future of maritime technology, these are the key requirements to meet:

• Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical domain.
• Based on the area and seniority you are seeking, relevant experience with similar solutions and/or in the shipbuilding/maritime sector is required.
• Good command of the English language. Dutch or German command is considered a plus.
• Due to the military nature of our projects, only candidates with a permanent EU nationality can be considered.
• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
