We ARE Renewables is looking for an OT Cyber Security Specialist for one of our clients in the energy sector.

As a Cybersecurity Specialist on the clients Operational Technology (OT) domain, you'll contribute daily to maintaining the security of the vital infrastructure behind our energy supply. You'll play a key role in the energy transition by ensuring our environment meets high security standards. Your knowledge and experience will help ensure continuity, reliability, and security. You'll work with a diverse, expert team of junior, mid-level, and senior specialists and will have ample opportunity to develop yourself further.

Task and Responsibilities

Taking the lead in analyzing cybersecurity risks and implementing measures for the assets on the clients OT environment. This environment consists of applications, services, OT platforms, a (telecom) network, and IT for OT.

Managing the security processes and issues within the operational technology that controls and monitors the electricity grid. This includes assessing configurations and log files in our landscape, hardening, operationalizing control measures, researching and evaluating the security maturity, health, and resilience of the OT domain, preparing reports, and supervising penetration tests. You will collaborate with the clients central CISO department and operationalize the clients cybersecurity policy.

Addressing security issues within our domain, taking the necessary initiatives for this, and embedding these in security and lifecycle evolution plans (security-by-design).

Key Requirements

You have a keen eye for the importance of cybersecurity and know how to engage others. You communicate effectively with clarity and people, making it easy for you to build support. Collaboration energizes you, you're curious about new developments, and you proactively seize opportunities to advance yourself and your team.

Furthermore, you have:

HBO/WO education, preferably in Cyber Security, and 5+ years of experience as a cybersecurity specialist.

Experience in applying security in complex operational and technical environments.

Knowledge of the operational technology (OT) domain and familiar with security standards such as IEC62443 and ISO27001.

Preferably certified (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GICSP, CEH, IEC, or equivalent).

Good command of Dutch both spoken and written

Location: Delft and Rotterdam + Hybrid

Duration: Septmeber 2026 – September 2027 (This is a permanent position)
