PKI Lead Engineer

You bring broad experience in PKI, security and IT infrastructure, and know how to design, run and improve secure certificate services. You advise application teams on certificates, trust chains, HSMs, cryptography and security protocols, translate their needs into platform improvements and guide onboarding from intake to go-live. You work on automation, CI/CD integrations, clear documentation and audit readiness. You combine technical depth with ownership, stakeholder management and a strong focus on compliance, reliability and customer value.

Requirements

• HBO/WO-level education or thinking level in IT, security, computer science or similar.
• At least 5 years of experience in IT security, PKI, infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Proven knowledge of PKI, digital certificates, certificate lifecycle and trust chains.
• Experience with PKI software, HSMs and connecting applications to PKI services.
• Knowledge of cryptography and protocols such as RSA, ECC, AES, SHA, TLS/SSL and HTTPS.
• Experience with certificate automation, security tooling, APIs or CI/CD pipelines.
• Able to explain technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluent English; Dutch and CISSP, PKI, security or PSPO certification are a plus.
