We are currently looking for a Porter to join our Guest Experience team on a flexible basis for approximately two days per week.

As a Porter, you are often the very first person our guests meet when they arrive at the hotel. Standing proudly at the entrance of our iconic canal houses, you greet guests with a genuine smile, assist with their luggage, and help create the first impression of Pulitzer Amsterdam.

You become part of a close knit team of Guest Experience professionals who share a passion for hospitality and take pride in creating memorable experiences. Whether welcoming guests on a sunny Amsterdam morning, assisting them through our historic property with their luggage cart, or introducing them to the unique features of their room, you help guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

For many guests, you will be the face they remember first.

A Day in the Life

No two days at Pulitzer are ever the same.

Your shift may begin outside the hotel, welcoming arriving guests and assisting them from their taxi, private transfer, or canal boat. You take care of their luggage and guide them through the hotel's beautiful collection of interconnected canal houses while sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm about Pulitzer and Amsterdam.

Once guests arrive at their room, you introduce them to their temporary home. You explain the room facilities, answer questions, and ensure they feel comfortable and settled before leaving them to enjoy their stay.

Throughout the day, you remain a visible presence around the hotel. You assist with luggage requests, help arrange transportation, provide directions and recommendations, and support guests whenever they need assistance. You work closely with the Front Office, Concierge, Housekeeping, and wider Guest Experience teams to ensure every arrival and departure feels effortless.

Above all, you help create the warm, personal atmosphere that Pulitzer is known for.

About the Role

The Porter team is an essential part of the Guest Experience department and plays a key role in shaping the guest experience from arrival to departure.

We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people from all over the world and who naturally takes pleasure in helping others. While attention to detail and operational excellence are important, personality is what truly makes the difference in this role.

You are confident, approachable, and professional. You enjoy being active throughout the day and thrive in an environment where every interaction is an opportunity to create a memorable moment.

This position is offered on a flexible, zero hour contract.

What We're Looking For

Previous hospitality experience is appreciated, but not essential. We are primarily looking for people with the right attitude and a genuine passion for guest service.

You are:

• Friendly, professional, and confident when interacting with guests.
• Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable experiences.
• Comfortable assisting with luggage and being active throughout your shift.
• A strong team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
• Fluent in English. Additional languages are a plus.
• Available to work approximately two days per week, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands.
