Procurement manager, Rotterdam

For Unilever we are looking for a procurement project manager for the frozen logistics department.

• Sourcing Strategy development , Negotiation preparation, Contracting through Logistics Sourcing Excellence, Gold Standard Contracting and tender strategies in line with the 7 sourcing steps.
• Develop & Lead the Procurement Strategy for the for the frozen network transformation.
• Subject-matter-expertise in frozen logistics and derives value creation opportunities based on a deep Logistics expertise of market conditions and future market trends, Macro/micro economic impacts, Supplier pools, Competitor and Industry Insights, as well as benchmarking and cost modelling.
• Multi- region strategic partnership program & roadmap leveraging the power of one to unlock value for all parties across multiple geographies & years.
• Insource vs Outsource opportunity assessment

The team works closely with the business to understand the needs and important values for Unilever to make sure you are able to translate this to a competative buying strategy.

The Logistics Portfolio covers the sourcing strategy development and procurement of logistical services for Unilever globally, including transportation, warehousing & pallets for both ambient & temperature controlled.

Key Facts and Figures: € 3.1 Billion Spend; 400+ warehouses globally; 4000+ suppliers globally.

This role will focus on the European frozen portfolio, which covers circa 30 warehouses.

Main job purpose:

Reporting to the Procurement Director Logistics Europe & MET the purpose of this role is to drive the Procurement Strategy supporting the frozen network transformation programme.Delivering cost, cash, sustainability through supplier selection, tendering, partnership and contracting.

Wat vragen wij?

• Preferred 10 years’ experience in a Procurement or Supply Chain roles either in Unilever / FMCG industry or within the frozen logistics sector
• Logistics procurement knowledge with insourcing/ outsourcing expertise,
• Strategy and Capability Development and Implementation with demonstrated success.
• Strong negotiation skills (Commercial and contractual)
• Familiarity with 3PL activity-based cost modelling and contracting strategies, planning and digital
• Strong business and commercial acumen.
• Finance skills to be able to provide input on inflation impacts.
• Supply Market Intelligence, Analysis, Competitiveness, and value opportunity identification.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical and story-telling skills
• Strong process driven with experience to land transformation projects
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and peers effectively (Experience of working in cross-functional teams within a matrix environment – both F2F and virtually)
• Ability and drive to work independently and influence/lead diverse teams, across different countries
• Detailed understanding of multi-year, multi party contracting
