McCain Foods is looking for ambitious Production Management Trainees (PMTs) to join our two-year Manufacturing Leadership Development Program. This hands-on program is designed to prepare talented professionals for a future management position within McCain, with opportunities to grow into leadership roles across our manufacturing network in Europe.

Whether you are a recent graduate or have already gained a few years of professional experience, this is an opportunity to develop your leadership skills, gain deep knowledge of manufacturing operations, and take on increasing responsibility from day one.

The majority of the traineeship will take place at our Lelystad plant in the Netherlands, with the possibility of spending part of the program at our Lewedorp plant. As your career develops, there may also be opportunities to take on roles at other McCain manufacturing sites across Europe.

What will you do?

The two-year program combines structured development, hands-on manufacturing experience and real leadership responsibility. You will learn how our business operates from raw materials to finished products, while developing the skills needed to become a future manufacturing leader.

During the first six months, you will rotate through different areas of the manufacturing operation, work closely with experienced leaders and subject matter experts, and build a strong understanding of our production processes.

After approximately six months, you will step into an active Production Team Leader role. In this position, you will be responsible for leading a production team in a shift-based environment. This means working in rotating shifts and taking responsibility for the people, performance, safety and quality of your team.

Throughout the two-year program, you will:

• Learn our manufacturing process from farm to factory to fork


• Gain hands-on experience across different areas of manufacturing


• Take on increasing leadership responsibility within the production environment


• Work as a Production Team Leader in a shift-based operation after approximately six months


• Lead, coach and develop production employees


• Take responsibility for safety, quality, productivity and performance


• Work on continuous improvement and productivity projects


• Complete structured training, coaching and mentoring assignments


• Work closely with teams across production, quality, packaging, processing, engineering and other functions


• Develop your understanding of manufacturing processes, systems and business performance


• Build a network across McCain and gain exposure to senior leaders


• Have opportunities to travel and potentially rotate within McCain's European manufacturing network


• Prepare for a future management position within McCain

What will you bring?

We are looking for ambitious and hands-on people who want to develop into future manufacturing leaders. You don't need to have all the answers yet, but you should be willing to learn, take responsibility and lead others.

You will bring:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO/Bachelor/Master level), preferably in a field related to production or operations, such as:

  • Food Technology
  
  
  • Technical Business Administration
  
  
  • Mechanical Engineering with a focus on manufacturing or operations

• Leadership experience – this can come from previous employment, internships, student associations, sports, volunteering, part-time jobs or other extracurricular activities


• Fluency in Dutch and English


• An interest in manufacturing, food production and operations


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• The ability to motivate, coach and work effectively with others


• A hands-on and proactive approach


• A willingness to work in a shift-based production environment


• Flexibility to work in a factory environment and be present on the production floor


• A passion for continuous improvement, problem-solving and innovation


• The ambition to grow into a management role within McCain


• Flexibility to relocate in the future, including the possibility of taking on roles at other McCain sites in Europe
