Project Buyer

The Maritime Project Buyer is responsible for project-related purchasing and managing assigned procurement categories within a technical, project-based environment. The role focuses on supplier management, contract negotiation, delivery performance, quality, cost control, and continuous improvement of procurement processes.

Responsibilities

Purchase project-specific components and monitor order status and delivery progress.

Develop category plans and negotiate, conclude, and manage supplier contracts.

Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.

Manage existing supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, quantity, and delivery.

Ensure the best balance between scope, quality, price, and delivery times.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and supply chain teams to support project and production requirements.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the professionalization of the purchasing department.

Requirements

Extensive experience in project-based environments.

HBO or university-level thinking and working ability in a technical-commercial field.

NEVI 1 qualification.

Several years of experience as a Buyer or Category Manager.

Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management.

Technical affinity; experience in the maritime sector is an advantage.

Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Commercial awareness, perseverance, confidence, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary and international environment.
