Job Description - Project Buyer Mechanics

We do this together, with a close-knit team of enthusiastic specialists in electronics, software, mechatronics and mathematics.Great labor guaranteeAs a Project Buyer Mechanics, your main focus is to set-up the supply chain and secure supply chain requirements for NPI projects during the various phases in the Product Creation Process (PCP). You liaise with many internal and external stakeholders like procurement, supplier quality, sales, project management to understand and challenge the required QLTC performance levels of the customers and internal organization.

Your tasks also include:

Prepare the supplier selection to define and set up the supply chain for NPI projects.

Ensure all procurement deliverables for each relevant NPI phase

Ensure procurement of all relevant parts (including operational set up and follow up in ERP system) with a QLTC optimized/negotiated performance level.

Ensure ordering project specific parts in compliance with the validity of the offers and with the supplier lead-time.

Keep track of supplier deliveries to ensure project specific parts come in according to plan and proactively communicate/manage discrepancies to the plan

Ensure that all project activities are in line with procurement and commodity strategy, where relevant

Procurement of parts in accordance with authorization matrix

Validate material costs for the project and capture them accurately in the project budget

Keep track of material cost variances and escalate them to the project leader through the appropriate process (change request, etc.)

Take care of the relevant reporting on procurement and specific project's KPIs

Together with SQA engineer qualify required new suppliers (e.g. supplier audits)

Preparing and negotiating about new and existing long-term purchasing contracts with (international) suppliers.

Developing and strengthening relationships with (potential) suppliers

Where needed, project buyer will participate in generic supplier programs (also for released products/projects)

After finalization of the NPI project, transfer all parts towards operational organization

Participate actively in improvement of procurement related processes/methods, such as NPI procedures, templates and contractual agreements

This is what you bring to the tableFirst of all, you have high communication skills and you have a strong personality. You will be a proactive part of the product creation process as a partner for the other project members and right hand of the project leader for setting up the chain of delivery. You are creative in the search for solutions and have a practical and entrepreneurial attitude. In your work you know how to set the right priorities and even under pressure you continue to carry out your work in a good way. You have an interest in technology and find the products we make for our diverse customer group a fascinating field of work. Based on your intrinsic motivation, you are able to suggest points of improvement and you are motivated to help colleagues and teammates.

Education on Bachelor level (technical and/or business), preferably in the area of mechanics or mechatronicsc

NEVI 1 and 2 education or equivalent

Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in comparable function in supply chain management/procurement in the high-tech low volume industry, e.g. as commodity, project or strategic buyer in the area of mechanics.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and respective cost drivers

Extensive knowledge of ERP systems

MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Knowledge of and /or experience with business processes and its challenges

Experience with supplier audits

Languages: Dutch, English, German preferred

Prepared to travel for work
