Your mission
As a Project Manager, you will oversee and coordinate all project-related activities from scope definition during the sales phase through to successful project completion - on time and within the agreed budget. You will ensure all project objectives align with the company’s strategic goals by collaborating closely with internal departments, stakeholders, and external partners.
What will you be doing?
- You will be part of the Project & Technology team with the following responsibilities:
- Support the business development team during the proposal stage to develop the project offering in terms of scope of works, manhours & schedule.
- Execute diverse categories of projects such as:
- Front End loading (FEL1,2,3) Studies
- Technology licencing projects
- Proprietary equipment engineering, procurement and installation projects
- Project development activities
- Assure that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Adhere to project specifications and quality standards
- Act as a stakeholder manager with clients and suppliers
- Manage effectively o project risks to minimize disruptions
You will be accountable for: Project Planning and Design
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and cost estimates.
- Develop and maintain (internal and external) project reports monitoring project progress, identifying risks and executing mitigation actions
- Collaborate with the project engineer to ensure technical specifications are accurate and feasible, and act as a gatekeeper for the quality assurance of the project.
- Ensure compliance client requirements, identify client’s goals and targets and interpreting it to project related actions
- Conduct regular project reviews and obtain client approvals at key milestones.
Project Execution and Monitoring
- Define project scope by working closely with clients and the commercial team to gather and document detailed requirements.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing progress updates, milestone achievements, and issue resolutions.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through regular meetings, reports, and presentations.
- Address conflicts and issues promptly, escalating when necessary.
- Prepare periodic reports for internal use and project-specific needs.
Budget and Resource Management
- Monitor project expenses to ensure adherence to budget.
- Optimize the use of materials, equipment, and personnel resources.
- Oversee procurement processes to meet budget and quality standards.
- Support preparation of financial reports and forecasts related to the project.
Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments at project initiation and throughout its lifecycle.
- Implement contingency plans to mitigate unforeseen challenges.
- Regularly update risk management plans as needed.
- Lead responses to unexpected project crises or issues.
- Keep all stakeholders informed about risks and mitigation steps being taken
Who are you?
We are looking for a solution-driven individual eager to learn, with strong organizational and coordination skills. You thrive in a dynamic project environment and can handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications and experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) is an advantage
- Master’s degree and/or Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2)
- Valid work/residency permit for the Netherlands
- 10-15 years of experience in project engineering or project management roles
- Proven track record managing FEL studies, technology licensing projects and/or equipment supply in a technology licensor industry
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external stakeholders
- Strong technical and engineering knowledge relevant to the project field
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
- Proficiency with project management software and engineering tools
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
