Job Description - Communication and Events Trainee

Do you have what it takes to help us generate more social impact? Do you want to be part of a small, ambitious team making a big impact across Europe? At Euclid Network - the European Social Enterprise Network, we’re looking for a creative, proactive, and hands-on trainee to join us. You’ll help tell our story, bring our events to life, and show our funders the difference we make..

In tomorrow’s economy, business success will not only be measured by profitability, but also by the responsibility shown toward the planet and the dignity afforded to people. Social entrepreneurs and leaders are the world’s frontrunners, dedicated to solving societal and environmental challenges while running sustainable businesses. As a European network for social enterprises and impact-driven leaders, we connect and support impact practitioners.

Since our foundation in 2007, Euclid Network has catalysed positive change by connecting, enhancing and celebrating social entrepreneurs, social innovators and their support organisations who help them pave the way for a socially inclusive green economy and society. The members and partners of the network are frontrunners in shaping the European ecosystem for social enterprises. They are supporting and representing the social enterprise and social innovation sector in Europe and neighbouring countries, collectively representing more than 120,000 organisations, with a presence in 31 and activities (across borders) in 77 countries. EN also works to put social entrepreneurs at the forefront of shaping the social economy ecosystem and market for social enterprises thanks to our strategic partnership with the European Commission, as well as corporate and foundation partnerships. EN connects social enterprise (inter)national networks, intermediaries, universities and training institutes, frontline NGOs and impact-driven entrepreneurs and innovators.

Our strategic programs and special events

Key programs include the European Social Enterprise Monitor, Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise, Buy Social Europe B2B. Our events create a platform for impact-driven organizations from all corners of Europe and beyond to present themselves, connect with investors, clients, public officials and exchange experiences to scale together.

We are seeking a creative, proactive, and hands-on trainee to join us to support the growth of our work. You’ll play a key role in communications and support organising our flagship Euclid Network Impact Summit in March 2026. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of room to bring your own ideas, implement new things, and learn from an experienced, international team of eight colleagues —which means you won’t just be a small cog in a big wheel.

Under direct supervision of the Communication and Member Engagement Senior Officer, the Communications and Events Trainee will be involved in the following activities:

Communication & Engagement:

  • Write, produce and disseminate EN, member and partner success stories to all EN (social) media platforms
  • Develop ideas to engage EN (social) media followers
  • Drafting text and multimedia content for external communications (websites, social media, newsletters)
  • Implementing the (social) media strategy, including monitoring and impact analysis

Event preparation - Impact Summit 2026:

  • Support the coordination with speakers, participants, and partners.
  • Manage event registrations, communications, and delegate information.
  • Work with suppliers (venues, catering, AV, print) to make sure everything runs smoothly.
  • Prepare event materials (programmes, name badges, signage).

Reporting & Organisational Support:

  • Contribute to reporting to our funders—gathering stories, data, and visuals that show our impact.
  • Support other organisational projects when needed—as in a small team, everyone pitches in.
  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a bachelor’s or master’s programme (as required under Dutch internship rules).
  • Experience working collaboratively in organisations, and/or, campus/faculty initiatives, or volunteer projects.
  • Creative, innovative, and proactive in contributing ideas.
  • Punctual, reliable, and accurate in delivering tasks.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken); knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a basic understanding of the European Union (socio-economic context, culture, innovation & technology). Knowledge of social entrepreneurship and social innovation is considered an asset.
  • Skills in video/photo editing, event management, and coordination are a plus.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the organisation
  • Be part of an expanding scale-up with a recognized track record since 2007
  • We provide a modest monthly reimbursement of 350 euro.
  • If you are eligible for an Erasmus+ traineeship grant through your university, we are happy to sign the required Learning Agreement; the Erasmus+ grant can be combined with our reimbursement.
  • Amazing offices at Apollo 14, The Hague, the new building for entrepreneurs who contribute to a better world through technological and social innovations
  • A laptop (can be) provided for the duration of the internship.
  • Enjoy space for own initiative
  • Be part of an open and committed team
  • Work in an international environment in every sense: colleagues, projects, events
  • Work for a buzzing sector; social enterprises and social innovation are the future
  • Opportunities to work across communications, events, and reporting—gaining a holistic 360° view of how our organisation and ecosystem works.
  • Duration: 4–6 months (or to be discussed)
  • Location: The Hague, Netherlands (hybrid working possible - we work Mon and Thu at the office).
  • Candidates from outside the Netherlands must have the right to undertake an internship here.
  • Starting date: The candidate would be expected to start as soon as possible, timings can be discussed.

Please apply with a letter of motivation (1 page) setting out how you meet the essential criteria above and a CV (max 2 pages) in a single PDF document. We review the applications on a rolling basis—so we encourage you to apply early. The final deadline for applications is Tuesday 30 September 2025.
