Country Lead - Netherlands (m/f/d) - Amsterdam

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the development and operation of the e-Commerce platform in the Netherlands,  focusing on the hospitality, catering industries, and other entrepreneur like independent grocery shop.
• Drive strategic partnerships and build strong relationships with sellers, vendors, customers, and other industry stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with central teams (Marketing, Commercial, Operations) to ensure effective execution and maximized impact of market activities.
• Foster a strong partnership with local wholesale operations to integrate the online marketplace effectively as an embedded third channel of METRO next to the wholesale stores and Food Service Distribution (FSD) channel.
• Lead and inspire a cross-functional team, providing guidance, removing obstacles, and enhancing team performance.
• Take full operational profit and loss (PnL) accountability, aligning with our European business model.
• Monitor customer experience and collaborate on product development insights to continuously improve the service.

• Proven experience in leadership, with a strong ability to manage and scale teams.
• Leading teams in a matrix organization, coaching and mentoring
• Extensive background in stakeholder management; adept at building and maintaining strategic relationships.
• Proficiency in cross-cultural management, understanding and integrating diverse cultural perspectives into business operations.
• Solid experience in PnL management, with a strategic mindset towards business growth and sustainability.
• Knowledge of e-Commerce, particularly in B2B environments, is preferred.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
