Job Description - Director Procurement (m/f/d)

As the Director of Procurement, you will lead and optimize the company’s procurement strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for sourcing new carriers, negotiating contracts, managing carrier relationships and creating customer solutions. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and the ability to align procurement with overall business objectives.

Lead and mentor two team members in procurememt and the creation of customer solutions
Source new carriers to expand and strengthen the logistics network
Create and negotiate contracts with new carriers, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms
Renegotiate existing pricing/contracts to align with market conditions and business needs
Request project-based pricing for special shipping needs
Build and maintain strong carrier relationships, acting as the primary point of contact
Communicate Shipcloud’s strategy and product vision to carriers
Define the carrier strategy for the solutions design team
Identify opportunities to grow our business
Monitor market trends and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly
Conduct business reviews with carriers to optimize performance and identify opportunities
Optimize our network of cross-dock hubs and linehauls
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Professional Services) to enhance procurement efficiency

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
10+ years of procurement/parcel logistics experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Solid knowledge of last-mile carriers in Europe.
Having a network of carrier contacts.
Strong negotiation, sourcing, and carrier management skills.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
