Looking to start your IT career in the Netherlands as a refugee? The Motopp IT Traineeship offers a 6-month program with training and mentorship, preparing you for full-time roles at top companies like ABN AMRO, PwC Nationale Postcode Loterij, and many others.Over the course of six months, you will prepare, together with eleven other trainees, for a career in the Dutch IT sector. How? Through a combination of technical IT skills training, insights into Dutch work culture, and workshops to develop essential soft skills. You will learn software development, gain an understanding of how the workplace operates in the Netherlands, and participate in sessions on topics such as presenting, assertiveness, and teamwork. The traineeship is fulltime and conducted in English.
After completing the training, you will start working with one of our partner companies across the country. For the next 18 months, we will continue to support you with personal coaching sessions, evaluations, and additional workshops.
Step-by-Step Program
Basic Training (2 weeks): Learn about Dutch work culture, communication, presentation techniques, CV building, and get introduced to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
IT Bootcamp (12 weeks): Consists of three modules: Business IT (Project Management, Business Requirements, UI/UX Design), Back-end Development (Python, DevOps, Testing), and IT Principles (HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Security). Trainees develop technical skills and explore their ideal IT role.
Internal Internship (12 weeks): Apply your knowledge in a simulated Dutch Agile work environment at Motopp, work on applications in Sprints, and receive feedback from trainers and mentors.
Career: Once you're ready to start working, you'll be matched with a position that aligns with your experience and skills, such as a software developer, system administrator, or business analyst. During the first 18 months, you’ll get ongoing support with personal coaching, regular feedback, and workshops to help you keep growing in your role.
The traineeship starts on the 15th of September, and youcan apply until the 30th of July. Applications are informed about the final selectionone month before the start of the traineeship.
Is this traineeship not the right timing for you? In 2025, we'll have a new traineeship starting almost every month. The next starting date is October 13th. Keep an eye on our website and LinkedIn for new openings.
Full-time: Monday to Friday, from 09:00-17:30.
Hybrid: An average of two days a week at our office in Amsterdam, the other days from home.
Cost-free: Training costs are covered, as well as travel expenses and a laptop if needed.
A refugee background with a Dutch resident permit.
English language proficiency at level B2.
Proven affinity with IT.
Completed education at HBO level (equivalent to a bachelor's degree).
Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and eagerness to learn.
