Junior Lab Technician | Additive Manufacturing

At 3devo, we develop advanced hardware and services that help businesses innovate more sustainably within the Additive Manufacturing and Polymers industries. We’re currently looking for a Lab Technician to join our team and support our technical services and product development efforts.

In this role, you will be responsible for executing and developing lab services, conducting product and material research, and supporting customer-facing teams with practical insights. You’ll help bridge the gap between R&D, customer applications, and commercial efforts by delivering tangible outcomes and actionable knowledge.

This is a hands-on, technical role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment. We’re looking for a creative, curious, and results-oriented team member who wants to push the boundaries of what's possible with materials and extrusion technology.

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

• Conduct paid lab services, including material tests and filament production trials for customers

• Carry out internal R&D on machine functionality and process optimization

• Research and test material compatibility and performance to support sales and product development

• Develop and document best practices, material recipes, and processing methods

• Collaborate with the Customer Success team to support customer projects, workshops, and training sessions

• Work with the Marketing team to turn lab results into sales tools (e.g., use cases, whitepapers, visual content)

• Stay up to date with trends in polymer science and additive manufacturing to spot new testing opportunities

• Maintain accurate records of lab results, findings, and repeatable test protocols

• Ensure lab equipment is well-maintained and organized for efficient experimentation

• Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill the team and improve technical support

• 1-2 years of experience in a lab, R&D, materials testing, or similar technical role

• Degree in Material Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

• Strong interest in materials science, polymer processing, or additive manufacturing

• Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for testing, experimenting, and solving practical challenges

• Scientific mindset with a creative, problem-solving approach

• Comfortable working independently in a lab setting and managing multiple projects

• Experience with technical documentation and translating test results into clear, usable insights

• Growth-oriented and curious, always looking to improve methods and expand technical knowledge

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

• Bonus: familiarity with extrusion, filament production, or related manufacturing processes

• Bonus: experience supporting cross-functional teams (marketing, customer success, engineering)

• Salary starting at €2800, depending on experience & fit
