About the role

The Safety & Security Manager defines safety policies, provides guidance, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within the organization. The role involves risk mitigation, policy development, training and developing others and fostering a safe work environment across all organizational operations.

Purpose of the role

Develop and implement safety and security policies to protect employees and assets. Ensure compliance with regulations, manage risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety and security throughout the organization.

Responsibilities and duties

• Define and implement safety and security policies and procedures.


• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.


• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.


• Develop and maintain document management systems for safety protocols.


• Provide guidance and training on safe working methods.


• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.


• Respond to safety-related queries and provide expert advice.


• Promote continuous improvement in safety and security practices.

• Language skills: Fluent in English. Second language (Dutch/Spanish/Arabic) can be an asset.

Education and experience

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent level.


• Minimal 1-year relevant experience in safety and security management, preferably in development sector


• Managerial experience (0-1 years).
