Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive the growth and market success of OVERSEA, a strategic maritime digital solutions business jointly owned by ABB and Wallenius Marine, within the Marine Service and Digital business on a global scale. Combining ABB's expertise in marine technology, automation, and digitalization with Wallenius Marine's deep operational shipping knowledge, OVERSEA delivers advanced software solutions that help ship owners and operators improve vessel performance, operational efficiency, sustainability, and commercial outcomes.

As the primary sales leader for this portfolio, you will develop and execute targeted sales strategies, build customer adoption, and achieve ambitious growth objectives. In addition to championing the OVERSEA portfolio, you will leverage ABB's broader portfolio of marine services, digital solutions, and lifecycle offerings to deliver comprehensive customer value and maximize business opportunities. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and execute sales initiatives that drive sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

Location: Rotterdam (NL), Helsinki (FI), Fornebu (NO)

This role is contributing to the Marine Service and Digital.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and executing sales strategies to drive growth, market penetration, and customer adoption of the assigned product and service portfolio within the marine industry.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities with ship owners, shipyards, marine operators, systems integrators, and other key industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with local sales teams and channel partners to maximize market coverage and achieve sales, service penetration, and digital solution adoption targets.
  • Leveraging ABB's full portfolio of marine services, digital solutions, and lifecycle offerings to create comprehensive customer value propositions and expand account opportunities.
  • Participating in the negotiation and closure of strategic commercial agreements, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
  • Providing product expertise, sales enablement, and training to internal sales teams, channel partners, and customers to support successful solution positioning and adoption.
  • Monitoring market trends, customer requirements, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify new growth opportunities and strengthen market positioning.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have a strong understanding of the marine industry and experience selling technical products, services, digital solutions, or lifecycle offerings to customers in the maritime sector.
  • You have 5–8 years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or product-focused commercial roles within marine, industrial, automation, or technology-related industries.
  • You possess a proven track record of driving business growth, developing customer relationships, and successfully managing complex sales cycles.
  • You are skilled at identifying customer needs, developing value-based solutions, and leveraging a broad portfolio of products and services to maximize customer outcomes.
  • You have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, engineering, and regional sales organizations.
  • You possess strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels of customer organizations.
