Your BIG challenge as our Senior Category Manager Ocean Freight

This is a key position within our Intersnack Procurement team, with high visibility and close collaboration with the director level of the Intersnack Procurement, the Senior Category Managers for Food and our Procurement Supply Chain. As Senior Category Manager Ocean Freight you will be responsible for purchasing ocean freight services from logistic service suppliers at the best conditions possible. You are permanently in contact with our logistic service suppliers and other sources of market intelligence to offer competitive propositions to our customers, the Operating Companies of the Intersnack Group, together with the Senior Category Managers for Food. Initiating cost savings, identifying risks, tracking the portfolio positions, and managing and executing the category strategy plans are also key responsibilities of the position. The Senior Category Manager reports to the Head of Logistics and will ideally work several days a week in Zevenaar, NL.

Your responsibilities:

- Own the ocean freight category for the Intersnack Group from a purchasing point of view;

- Collaborating with new and existing logistics service providers for ocean freight;

- Challenge and drive the relationship to maximize the benefit to support our growth strategy;

- Take charge of high-level negotiations, supplier development and key stakeholder engagement;

- Update, align and present Category Strategy to the Procurement managing board and key stakeholder;

- Routinely sense check our Risk Policy as well as Sustainability approach to make sure it fits with the Strategy;

- Develop and execute a pipeline of initiatives and projects with a focus sustainable cost base reduction;

- Change, adjust or implement new processes and take internal stakeholders, e.g. SCM, Finance, Legal, with you;

- Follow the ocean freight market to report trends, movements, risks and inform stakeholders;

- Support to solve operational issues, e.g. supply interruptions, contractual disputes, invoice resolution if needed;

- Deliver the annual Ocean Freight Budget proposal and manage the Capital at Risk;

- Support the company in coherent development and application of our wider policies and objectives.

You are experienced in procuring ocean freight and barge services on a lager scale, FMCG preferred. You see the bigger picture, preventing problems before they occur. - A Bachelor or Master’s degree in business management, supply chain management or related field;

- Strategic and conceptual skills;

- Dutch and English language skills;
