What's on the menu?

As our new Senior Data Engineer, you'll be the architect of our data infrastructure, building on the work of our current data engineer returning later this year. Your mission would be to tame the torrent of data generated by our AI-powered food waste monitoring system and transform it into actionable insights. You'll be hands-on, creating and deploying near real-time data pipelines that feed our AI and empower our customers to fight food waste.

This role is more than just pipelines and code; it's about leading the charge in our data-driven fight against food waste. As you dive deeper, you'll find yourself collaborating with a passionate team of AI specialists, data analysts, and developers. Together, you'll ensure our data pipelines are seamlessly integrated with our AI, empowering it to deliver even more accurate and insightful food waste analysis. You'll work alongside our software team to support our projects and support our AI and Data Analyst teams , ensuring Orbisk remains at the forefront of data innovation in the hospitality industry.

But it doesn't stop there. You'll also be the go-to data expert for our customers, working closely with Sales Managers and customer counterparts to tailor data solutions to their unique needs. You'll be coding in Python, SQL, Dataform, and Terraform, building robust and scalable solutions that meet the demands of our growing customer base.

The key ingredients for success: 

• A Computer Science (or similar) background and 6+ years of relevant experience.

• Build and maintain our core data pipeline infrastructure to support our product offerings

• Build and support ingesting from internal and external source into the pipeline

• Design and manage data storage, processing, and orchestration on GCP, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability

• Work directly as part of our Software team, as food waste data is how we help our clients every day

• Work closely with our AI team to support our AI pipeline

• Work closely in support of our Data Analysis team to provide them necessary structural information in the pipeline
